Hi guys

I've installed the latest version of Houdini 9.5.241, a few times each with the same problem. while using Houdini it just hangs, one repeat of this is when i change my frame range from the default to 100 i click save as default then close the box & it hangs.

Dell Inspiron l6400
Intel centrino Duo
Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family (whatever that is) Graphics card
1Gb Ram

Looking at all the other people who've had these problems I'm guessing its something to do with my graphics card.

You don't say what OS you're running. If you're on Windows, then you can set the environment variable HOUDINI_OGL_SOFTWARE to 1 (you can search for how to do this on this forum if you don't know how to). Unfortunately, Intel's OpenGL driver doesn't work very well with Houdini and so the best we can hope for is to have it fall back to Microsoft's ancient OpenGL driver.

I've already tried the HOUDINI_OGL_SOFTWARE to 1 but still no luck.

Ah looks like I'm going to have to wait to get home to my main PC to start learning (I'm using my GF's laptop at the mo while in the states).
