It seems every time I use the sin function in the point sop, as in
sin($TX*400 + $T )
it crashes houdini when I add the $T into the expression! I don't remember this ever happening before. Could it be because I upgraded my Intel dual core to a quad core? I don't see anything about it in the bug journals – Am I out of my mind? Has anyone run across this?
using XP with the new VC8 5.303 build, but it happened first in 5.170, which is why I installed the new build in the first place……
Popup help bug (WAS:bug in sin() function?)

note to self - always check crash log:
Traceback from Thu Jan 08 18:53:15 2009
Caught signal 11
+0x06ec0738
I turned off
\Preferences>Scripting>Context Sensitive Popup Help
and it seems to have gone away. Could this be a graphics driver issue? It's odd, because it happened with more than one machine.
windows XP, btw
