Can any one help me in animating surface color (from one solid color to another) for my obj.

mh, not sure what's Your problem here, but keyframing the rgb values is a big step in the right direction

If You want to have more control over the change You can use a ramp vop to define a specific transition and drive the input of the ramp with a custom parameter.
