I have Apprentice HD 10 on Win 7 64bit and I am wondering if I can have a stereo file used to make the effect that I want? Also am I just limited to .WAV files on Windows?

What effect do you want to achieve with the audio?

Generally two methods to take audio and drive animation:

1. Amplitude enveloping of the waveform then process using Area and Slope for peaks, valleys, and slope/accelerations. Logic used to Trigger events.
Good for driving a single overall parameter of your effect at a time. Process the audio in several ways and combine the results for dynamic results.

2. Return the Spectrum (or power) of the audio waveform to affect a broad range of attributes at a time.

Example files should be there for many of the CHOPs referenced above.

Andy Lowell wrote a book on using CHOPs to process audio and data in a great amount of detail.
There's at least one school like the old school!

Actually I just found that I missed it when looking to see what he had and I seemed to have missed them when I went through to download.. ops:

Thanks Jeff: what I want to do is: take a grid subdivide like what peter quint has on his for-each tutorial and randomise the primitive motion on the y axis.
