Hi there,

We know that one way of render GI is to use the Irradiance Vop node in a shader network and add its output to the result color. So, does the irradiance node need a photon map ?

THanks

Nope, it's a ray trace approach accelerated by irradiance gradients cache system. If you apply photon map on a VEX GI Light Shader, first it turns off ray trace irradiance, second it won't work properly because Mantra photons maps are currently pure PBR entities.

Thank you, sir.
