Hello,
I have set up a light template that has a VEX Global illumination shader assigned. When I go to render in mantra I get an excellent image but I don't know how to isolate just the global illumination into a separate image plane for compositing.
For instance I can get the specular pass by creating an image plane and specifying specularExport - what do you have to specify to get just the Global Illumination?
am I ovelooking something?
Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

AFAIK you can't do this that way with GI Light shader as it's baked into diffuse contribution of all shaders. So, either you could try build in GI support into surface shaders (avoiding GI light at all) and use aov export as usual or render a second pass separately with GI/lambert shading.
You could try also export diffuse from GI Light separately via per-light export feature, but I'm not sure if that's possible with gi light. I've never tried. It implies getting hands dirty with surface shaders anyway, so putting GI into it might be simpler option at last.
