When creating Bones with IK, two of the available options are “Inverse Kinematics” and “IK with Constraints. Do you know what's the difference between the two? I've played with them and could not discern any difference.

Same thing goes with ”Forward Kinematics“ and ”FK with constraints." help anyone?

I believe it allows you to puts limits on your rotations so the bones can only go so far when you move the controller.

I think with IK with constraints you also lose the ability for a twist affector (again, if memory serves).

edit/ also check the documentation http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini11.0/nodes/chop/inversekin [sidefx.com]

That kind of makes sense. Thanks for the response.

When using IK with constraints on the joint angles the solution relies on the previous frame so scrubbing animation skipping frames can lead to erroneous results.
There's at least one school like the old school!
