Hi, I'm having real trouble. I have a ‘nurbs curve’ to a ‘convert’ to a ‘polyextrude’. When I try to extrude a multiple sections, I can't right click to complete, it just selects a differant section. What am I doing wrong?

sounds like your viewport crashed.. you can either try to close that pane and reopen another and set it to a viewport and that might fix it.. or close houdini altogether and reload the file..

whenever you make a selection in the viewport and you can't right click to set it, it prob means the viewport has crashed or houdini is about to…

Spot on! It had crashed. You don't realise when the rest of the app is still running. Thanks again.

if this is what I think it is then you might try this trick:
when you can't RMB to complete or can't tumble in the viewport > hit TAB then TAB again…

thanks for the tip arctor.. will try that one out next time… but first thing that comes to my mind is when the times the viewport locks and all context menu's, right-click menu's, tab menu stick to the viewport when activated and the only way to get them to go away is to esc out of the op and enter back in to it (which is really annoying when you have just finished doing something like making a selection)…. have you run in to that at all?

all the time…
and the TAB TAB trick works just fine - and you don't have to leave the tool state you are in…

Tab Tab is for suckers.

You could create a hotkey that does the same thing as the right click.
That way if houdini stops liking your right click you can still complete the action.

Settings -> Hotkey Manager

Houdini -> Panes -> Geometry Viewers -> Accept

I have my bound to “Ctrl-A” (Ctrl-Shift a)

hotkeys are for suckers..
TAB TAB works better because it doesn't force you to ‘accept’ anything….

Middle Management meetings is a code phrase meaning… “Let's go to the pub!”

Cool!! Let's see how much quote we can encapsulate!

Actually, I was just having fun with asking questions. You know, one of those childhood games.
