Did you use a Hipoly cage when baking in Substance? I'm pretty new to Houdini and Substance, but something similar happened to me a while back, and using a high poly as the cage solved my issue.

Wow, this thread is from Dec.7, 2022, and yes, I was searching for why my console pops up with errors every time I try to use the layout node!
Why have these issues not been resolved?

I'm pretty sure I've double-checked everything before posting this question, but if I'm asking it, I must be missing something.
I'm not sure why I can't see any of my textures in the VP under "Houdini GL." When rendered, the texture appears fine, but under "Houdini GL," I cannot see any of my textures.
Please see the attached screenshots.

How do I know when to use a particular vector in a node.. i.e., Vector 1,2,3 or 4? I'm a bit confused about this.
Thanks
Thanks

uv aren't required for an planar projection on axis. The two orthogonal axes to the projection axis can be shuffled into a vec2 and used with the circle formula.
for radial (phi):
(r1 - length(x,y))/(r1-r2)
for radar sweep (theta):
n*atan2(y,x)/2PI % 1
jsmack,
Unfortunately, I am not that advanced yet! I am still a super-newb to Houdini, learning the lingo and my way around. I appreciate the help and will save this file for when I become more knowledgeable.
Thanks

Does anyone have any idea on how to create a circular gradient? I found the tutorial, but I think the process might be outdated, because I got a different result.

Thank you, Tanto
I will have to play around with that option checked/unchecked to see if this happens again.

Hi Everyone,
I'm posting my first render, done in Solaris, and would like feedback on how to make this look more realistic. I'm in print and digital production and want to add 3D pipelines to my workflow.
What do you think?

That was very strange. It was one of the lights in my scene that was causing this issue, once I deleted it I can once again navigate as intended. Can clipping on a light cause such an issue?

For some weird reason, whenever I try to navigate in Houdini/Solaris, I can only see the HDRI studio image that I have set to my Dome light. This is driving me crazy, and cannot figure this one out. I even created a new camera, and the problem still persists. is it some setting I may have set that is causing this?
Please see the attached, and thank you for your help.

Hello everyone,
I am incredibly new to Houdini, so please forgive me if this question has already been asked. I've modeled a simple bottle, and while messing around with materials and render settings, I noticed several hotspots in my render, most likely coming from an "area light."
I tried applying a "Render Geometry node" and messing around with the different settings under "Shading." Still, I am getting the hotspots. I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction to resolving this besides "Photoshop. "
Also, how would I create a liquid fill for this still image? Thanks.
Please see the attached.
