im quite new to houdini and im trying to fracture a beaker with liquid in it.
so i do an initial state of the liquid still in the beaker by making a file node and connecting it to the initial state of the autodopnetwork but then the beakers rbd does not work and does not fall. im not sure what is happening can anyone help me i would appreciate it

i am having trouble keeping my uvs on a model i bring back in to maya. i want to be able to bring in a UVed object from maya and be able to fracture it in houdini then back into maya with the uvs in the same way. this is not working for me it looks that when you fracture something in houdini and then export it fbx into maya the object is triangulated and the uvs are not the same what can i do to fix this

im trying to get the workflow from maya to houdini and back to work properly for me. im used the FBX format to go back and forward. my work ethic is i create a object like a beaker and i add a couple of keys to animate it moving side to side then i export it fbx and import it into houdini…. everything to this point seems to work fine. in houdini i add the flip fluids and fill the beaker with liquid i do everything and when finished everything looks fine in houdini the problem is when i import it back into maya. what i do is i leave the original animation in maya and i only import the particle mesh from houdini into maya as an fbx. when i go to play the animation the particle mesh and the animated beaker in maya are not in sync.. the particle mesh penetrates the beaker. can any one tell me what i am doing wrong and how i can solve this problem. thank you

i was wondering if there was a way to work in Maya and do all the animation and modeling and then transfer all the animation and models to Houdini,so i can do all the simulation and dynamics. Then from there bring back the simulated mesh into Maya. if anyone know of a way to do it please let me know i have the newest Houdini apprentice and the latest 2013 Maya.

hello i just recently bought the apprentice HD and i have been using it for 2 to 3 days now and i have approached my first problem. i am trying to use the emit particle fluid tool and the only way it works is selecting an object and it will create an emitter but if i want to create the default one, not using any object, i get a prompt saying no object were selected. how can i fix this? i would like to use the default emitter.
