Has this been resolved. I am having this issue on my dell precision 7720 workstation. This is the first statement that pops up in Houdini:
Unable to load HFS OpenCL platform.
It looks like HOudini is having a hard time choosing which video card to utilize. And this is from quick research online.

I very much agree. It seems a bit cunning for Steam to put an monthly subscription price when they are only offering a yearly price in the stead. I am requesting a Houdini Indie monthly payment version. Getting these meshes into other 3D programs is arduous and expensive at the moment.

I have an animated texture sequence (a file sequence). Does anyone know how to use an image sequence from cOPs and load it as a texture into any material.
1. I have tried op:image/img1/null_myimage
<< but that didn't work.
2. I want to avoid using “padzero(etc)”
Any ideas?

Yep. I have been using Houdini for 2 years. And L'o and behold. This is upsetting. I am getting the same thing. I used to be able to set the project by simply clicking on the project director, and voila. The project was set. Now, in Houdini 16, it does not do that. Is Side Effects working on this?

Thanks for posting this guys. I think this is still yet to work. The Gravity field has trouble being masked. I am trying to use FEM. But for some reason it does not work. I will try and use the Uniform force instead.

While we're here, you seem to have a fundamental misconception.
The carve sop doesn't produce a “domainu1” attribute/variable, it's just a parameter to control the Carve.
I think the “domainu1” is determining where in the implicit parametric coords to make the cut.
So if you appended the uv texure sop before the carve and display the attr in the 3d viewport, you could check it's making the cut at the uv.x = “domainu1”, I think.

You can branch out another carve from your input node, and instead of cut mode, set it to extract. There you'll have your point

Would anyone know how to group the “First U” from a Carve SOP. I would like to emit particles from this slider. I hovered my mouse over this parameter, and it looks like it produces a “domainu1” attribute/variable etc.. I would love to know how you can source it in order to emit particles or do whatever.

I'm still trying to figure this one out as well. I can't find any resources and the documentation is not clear to me. It looks like Houdini 15.5 changed its process on how to go about doing this. If you find out please let me know.

I ran several renders and I still was not able to render at 1920 after purchasing houdini Indie. I made sure I was running Houdini indie 14 and not apprentice. is there any way to fix this?

I've created some points that emit flames via the fluid container. To do this, I had initally created some points, then a fluid contianer and applied the top shelf tool, “Source Points”.
Only problem is that it projects smoke. No flames. Even if I change the material. What is happening. Please Help!

Yeah. I'm having a machine get here that is NOT a mac with some goodies in it. I'm done with Mac for doing 3D graphics. Non mas.
I think the biggest problem is that Apple doesn't offer updated drivers for it's graphics card. Unfortunately. Houdini was working before. I'm not sure where it went wrong.

I have tons of crashes as well, I hope Side FX sees it as an urgent issue as it is occuring perpetually. I have merged geometry and have been spending more than an hour removing nodes to see if I can select them.
After the crash, Houdini many times fails to give me a crash report.
To no avail it continues to crash.

Does anyone have a a good process as to how to properly render and composite pyroFX elements into live action footage.
1. I have pyroFX footage that I've cached and now ready to render
2. I have collision objects in the footage that I'd like to mask out as they were placeholders and would lke to composite them out, but still make it look like the objects in the live action footage were aflame.
3. I tried placing 3d objects and using a shadow matte (much like the useBackground shader in Maya). I thought this would be the best aproach.
4. Problem: I've tried a few renders hoping that the collision geometry would mask out parts of the pyrofx I don't want visible but it causes luminosity issues during the compositing stage.
Some tips would be greatly appreciated.
