Hello, all. I'm having an issue with mantra, and maybe someone can adress it. I'm trying to render smoke inside a glass sphere, which is just a mantra surface with refraction enabled and some reflections. The smoke was done with a billowy smoke sim, and, when I assign a billowy smoke shader, everything seems fine, and mantra renders all elements correctly. The problem is that I would like to use a fireball shader, but once I asign it to my smoke, it doesn't render inside the glass. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm kind of new to houdini so it would be of real help if someone could answer this.
Thanks, in advance, and sorry for any bad english
Cheers.

Hello, everyone. I've only been learning houdini this last few weeks, so I'm kind of new, and I have a simple question. How do I clear cache after reseting a simulation? Everytime I preview one, Houdini eats up a fair amount of RAM. But, whenever I reset that simulation, memory usage doesn't go down, and if I re do it, more amount of RAM is filled. It hasn't hit the limit so far, but it's a little bit annoying having houdini using 10gb of memory without any sense.
Thanks in advance, and sorry for my crappy english, if so.

Sometimes panels get ‘pinned’ (see the screenshot), so they don't update to the current node. Or maybe you're looking at the wrong class of attribute in the spreadsheet? I assume you're in a Point VOP?
If you're able to share a hip file, that's always helpful.
That was it, thanks so much for the quick answer!

Hello everyone. As expressed in the title, that's my problem. I'm kind of new to Houdini. I have my color input connected to a fit node, then converted to float value, and when I connect that node to my bind export, the attribute does not appear in the spreadsheet. I don't know if it is just a silly UI thing that I did not check, or if the attribute is not being exported at all. Just so you know, I'm following some tutorial about a melting angel, which I heard was a good place to start, along with the side fx ones; maybe that helps.

Hello everyone, I'm new to Houdini. I started a few days ago and so far I'm loving its workflow, but I can't find any good reference or tutorials for its node system, which I find quite complicated in some ways. And when I say complicated, I mean it has lots of inputs and expressions which there is very little information about online. I am used to working with nodes (octane, cycles, nuke) but this la a whole new world, and I was wondering if there is a particular source or resource when i can find information about the node system.
Thanks in advance and sorry for my crappy english, if so.
