Is it possible to use Stamp in COPs?
In my simple scene I tried to stamp text parameter in FontCOP
via `stamp(“/obj/geo/copy1”,“gridnum”,0)` but it seems not to work at all. I want FontSOP to generate a unique number on each copied Grid. Where is my mistake and what is the right way?

Ok! Sorry for my English … ))
I have found mantra to be a very slow render …
It was my mistake … realy …
This is not mantra-to-mplay communication problem.
Everything in Houdini is slow !
I have started matra from command line with “h”
mantra - h
it takes about 20 seconds to print help
I tried out several *.exe files (mplay, gwavefront … +
others) it always takes about 20-30 seconds to print
help or start process …
what`s the problem ? my OS is windows 2003 server …
all antiviruses and firewalls are off.

any simple scene … just a sphere + omnilight + camera …
all rendering setting are at their defaults.
i have read the posts in other topics, maybe on more complicated
scenes matra would be more fast ( comparing to other renderers ),
… but …
the main problem is that it takes about 20-30 sec to start any rendering
( the MPlay is already open ).

with 3rd party renders.
I`m playing with Houdini Apprentice and have found it
extremly powerfull … but mantra … It takes ages to render some
not very complicated scene on my Intel CORE2 Quad 2.40 gHz.
I don`t know where is the problem … but …

I know there are several versions of MentalRay Stand Alone
from Autodesk compatible with differnet Autodesk 3D software.
Some versions for max, some for maya.
What version would be compatible with Houdini 9, if any … ?
