hey everyone,
was wondering if there was a way of simulating a dandelion clock in houdini. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to houdini since i come from maya, but houdini just seems to create much more natural dynamic animations. I've been able to create just some bit of geometry to represent the seed head and seeds which are rigid bodys that blow in the wind. where i am having problems is that the seeds just float away unnatural without sticking to the seed head at all. any ideas?
thanks all, sam

Hey everyone,
I'm trying to import a baked RBD animation of 2 rolling dice from houdini that i've exported into a FBX file to import into maya.
The file imports into maya ok and the animation is fine, however, the intention was to add a material to it within maya containing a bump map for the numbers on each side of the dice. For some reason, when i open the UV editor, the geometry doesn't have a UV, nor can one be created for it!?!?!?!
if you have idea how to help me it would be much appreciated
thanks, sam

Hey everyone, I'm in the process of making a small dice thowing animation. basically i want for the final animation to be a slow motion dice throw. where im having problems is the slowing down of the animation to be approximatly 10x slower. the final thing will be exported to Maya via a FBX file.
so far i've tried slowing it down by increasing the frame rate to 240fps, however this made houdini encounter an error when exporting the FBX file saying it had to be at the dafault 24fps. the next approach i tried involved lowering all forces such as velocity and gravity to slow the animation, however this resulting in far too much rolling once the dice hit the board.
thanks everyone, sam
