Hi.
I would like to copy a bunch of pointlights to my fire.
In my fire object i put down a scatter node and a copy, but how do i get the pointlight to exist in the geo node? the object mergre won't do it.
please help,

hi all.
i have a quick question.
i work almost only with a tablet, then it's inconvenient to use the MMB and RMB.
so is it possible to change the keys so i zoom with ctrl+space+LMB and pan with shift+space+LMB
this would be perfect for me.

thanks for the replay.
i didn't realize that the cached out sim files got so big. so what i did was, i exported every object to it's own file, then it loads a lot better in houdini.
so i guess there's now way to ave the voxel fluids deactivated for some frames at the beginning?

is this not possible?
i also noticed that it's really slow to load cashed files, i's almost faster to resimulate the whole animation. maybe i'm doing something wrong here.
i put i file node in the end of my autodop, set it to write files, then i switch to read files.. is there a faster way maybe?

is there a good way of doing this?
i know that i have a creation frame option in the emitter, but the simulation is still slow, even though i'm not emitting any fluids.
i've tried doing it with a switch, and displaying a null when i'm not emitting anything. but then when i switch to the simulation, it won't start.

is it possible to have more than one export per chop node? i've tried to merge all export nodes but it wont work. is there an other way?
or do i just need to create several chops?

hey edward. thanks for your replay.
however, this didn't make any difference. if i scrub the timeline my 3d viewport still flicker around.
and also, if i hit play, nothing happens, but, if i hit play and i drag around the mouse in circles, it will play.
i'm under osx.

This will export a Houdini .chan file from the selected item. The order of the channels on a mesh item is:
pos rot scl
The order of the channels on a camera item is:
pos rot Focal_Length Aperture FocusDist F-Stop
On PC you'll have to rename the file from *.txt to *.chan manually.
download, www.modo.stenson.tv [modo.stenson.tv]
I'm pretty new to houdini, but I'm an old modo user.
I wrote this script to get camera animation into houdini.
All tough I'm having a problem when importing the chan file and export it to the camera, the camera moves perfectly. But my 3d view port spins around like crazy, only the 3d view port, not the top view or side view. so is there a solution to this in houdini? can I maybe bake the motion some how?
