It works fine for me on same version of Houdini.
Do you have turned on “Node guides” and “Node handles” under Display Options > Guides?

Since you want to kill on collision so you don't need those check boxes to be turned on. Just use sink.

Age Particles check box is to calculate age of particles over time. If you see detail view, it added three attributes age, dead and life.
Reap Particles kills particles whose age exceeded life attribute value.

Also, to kill particles with POPDOP or PopKill Node - i should switch these checkboxes on. A attached the screenshot.
POP nodes in DOP land called POPDOPs. So yeah, I mean POPKILL dop node.

If geometry have hard edge you'll get sharp curvature, I mean higher curvature value.
Your geometry doesn't have that so I think it's not possible to get continuous curve using my approach.
If I use sharper version of your geometry, my approach is very accurate but on final geometry it gives discontinuous curve.
Change switch inputs, you will get the idea.
It's not very good approach, but it's only I could come up with.

Sorry to nitpick, but in that case you should remove the rand($PN*125.5614) part, as that is constant, and it will actually limit the return value of the whole expression to between 0 and rand(0) ..
Oops!!! nice catch, Master.

for more randomization you can also use perimeter of primitive:
rand($PN*125.5614)*rand(stamp(“..”, “FORVALUE”, 0)*468.56165)*rand(prim(“../measure1”, $PR, “perimeter”, 0)*53.26)
rand($PN*125.5614)*rand(stamp(“..”, “FORVALUE”, 0)*468.56165)*rand(prim(“../measure1”, $PR, “perimeter”, 0)*53.26)

Your hip still exhibits the same problem - each part is scaled with the same amount, rand(0) in this case.
If you want to randomize then multiply rand($PN) by forvalue
rand($PN*125.5614)*rand(stamp(“..”, “FORVALUE”, 0))
put this in uniform scale.

I didn't refresh page to see eetu's post.
Definitely this can be done using primitive sop or attribwrangle sop.
