I had this problem too….the best solution i've found is just copy to metaballs, and set meta “metaballs as volume” on the geometry node….

i have difficult to make this easier on Houdini, to make a car's rim…, maybe “faster” is a better word. I used the fuse sop to merge the points….but before i have to delete the primitives sides, to make it work well….if someone have a better way to do that, i appreciate to learn

Thanks! i'm Trying to Improve now….
The volume light its simple, add atmosphere sop object, drop on shop a vex lit fog and add as a material of object sop atmo…..and add the light source as light mask on atmo object…..if there some other ways to do a nice volumetric fog i'll glad to know!

I'm trying to make a high poly scale scene, to practice… modelling, shading and lighting….and integrate zbrush and Houdini….Not to much realistic
Thats is where i'm now…all base meshes done on Houdini, Frog, Mushs and Tree, Detailed and PolyPaint on Zbrush….Let me think what you think about
There are so a lot of fur on the ground to make grass, and some flowers it make the render so heavy…i'm trouble on make a nice sun light and fog….but i'm working hard…i'm pretty newbie on 3d…playing around with Houdini less than a year…so i have lot to learn….
If if you have any ideas to improve always welcome

understood….i calculate using the shelf tool pop-Object…because i had created pop location with the shelf too…you meant to copy direct the spheres to pop template and later use fracture shelf…right? all with the same object sop?

ahh and a little observation i made: if you would simulate the real geometry (copies that stick already to the POPSOP template), your sphere's wouldn't sink in the ground with half their size Wink
thanks…but i dont understood what you mean …sorry what you called “stick”
ok, where can i find this “particle location hidden” ??
just turn the view flag off on node
You build your own “set” or customize mine?
you calculate the particles and spheres on the same object sop? as you say on the observation …right?

I really dont mind….
a) i just animated with autokey on…marking keyframes in 3 points….first - green; mid - red… and blue at last frame. changing colors on color editor….to make a keyframe on color…i gone on parameter “light color” right click on -> channels and keyframes -> set keyframe
b)i dont want makes perfect at this point….just aproximate the colors using my eye …..keyframes are the sames….first - green; mid - red… and blue at last frame.
c)well…each one are a sop object….just make “particles location” hidden….
and i turned on “emission” on glow material…
hope it helps
