Hi all,
I am trying to export my simulation into UE4. I have successfully exported a abc file. The issue is the pivot point for mesh is way out in space. How do I get my pivot point to be centered on my mesh when I export the alembic file?
One screen shot shows it in Houdini the other is in UE4. Anyway of controlling this?

Hi all,
I am trying to trouble shoot something and I could use some advice. I created a rope HDA and brought it into UE4. No error messages everything shows up on the detail tab, but when I drag the HDA into my UE scene it doesnt show the rope mesh, it just shows the Houdini logo.
I tested 2 other HDA that I created and they came in fine and I can see them in my VP.
What should I be looking at to solve this issue?
I am using UE4 4.26.2 Houdini 18.5.633
I also added the Cooklog from UE4

All I am trying to do is get the top of the rope attached to the animated bar.
What am I doing wrong?

Hi all,
I am trying to figure out how to take a piece of geometry out of an fbx and have it not connected to the hierarchy. I imported some assets from UE4 into Houdini. So I have an aircraft and a building. The aircraft is animated. I want to take a piece of the aircraft out of the hierarchy and have it be on its own.
If I disconnect the piece it moves to the 0,0,0 of the scene. Plus it still lives inside the FBX hierarchy. Is there a way of disconnecting the node, keeping the animation and having it outside of the fbx hierarchy?
Thanks!

Hi all,
I am experienced 3d user but new to Houdini. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I am trying to make a rope simulation that will be used in UE4. I have found a few things on Youtube that deals with ropes but nothing that would match what I am trying to do.
Basically I want the rope to be thrown out of a aircraft. One end of the rope is attached to the aircraft the other end would hit the ground below and people would then slide down the rope. I need the rope to start out in a pile and have a character kick or push it out of the aircraft. (
See the screen shot attached.)
Any advice or info would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks
Alex
