Thanks for the reply. It was actually the Slope CHOP that worked. I don't know why I hadn't found it before. Thanks though.

I am needing to drive the movment of one channel by the acceleration of another channel. My first idea was to use CHOPs and find the slope but I'm not finding it as easy as I thought it would be. I'm sure I'm missing something simple. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

That installed perfectly thanks. How do I use it? I can't seem to find it when I tab anywhere. Do I get it in SHOP or VOP mode. What is it named?

I can't get the OTL to install. Is says it is 18KB on the site but the file is only 54kb. When I try to install it says the file is corrupt. Is it something I am doing wrong or is there something wrong with the file?

The forground is all modeled and textured in Houdini. The water and sky where composited in Houdini. Yes, I only used Houdini but I did use a photo as well. I have posted the file above and nothing very fancy. I don't have much time right now but decided to give my head a break from programming so I took a bit of time and did this. I know it is a long way from perfect, just having some fun playing around with it.

They said it was fixed in 9.0.799. I downloaded 9.0.800 and it is working perfectly so far for me.

I have been fighting with the same thing. XP and Hyperthreading. It never did this until last week. No changes on the computer. I'd sure love to know why it hasn't been fixed.

I ready in the notice about the release of HD that you need .790 or newer because they had to modify it run with the HD licence.

Hi, I have been working through the Seagull UV tutorials and have a problem. When I go to save out the UV image to work on in Photoshop it gives the error “Invalid usage for display command”. I have tried exporting in several different files type with no change. If there is no path it seems to work but as soon as I change where it saves to it gives the error.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks, I had not seen where that was added back in. Great to have! I noticed that the materials that have displacement look good on everything axcept the grid. For some reason there never seems to be and displacement when previewing a grid. Why would this be?

Is the shader preview pane going to be put back in again? It is really a pain creating shaders wihout the preview. I have been using object with the Render Region on but very slow compared to the old preview pane.

Instead uv using the Global Variable to get you UV values for the noise create a Parameter change it's type to vector and the Parameter Name to uv. This will bring in the UVs of the object. You must have UVs applied to the object first.

Have you tried the Ray SOP? Not sure exactly what you are trying to do but it might work for you.
