These were made during the H12 Beta program and several people have commented on how useful they were and would like continued access to them, so we've posted them here for everyone to have a look at. Enjoy!

Hi ho! Since you're new here, you probably didn't see this sticky note at the top of the thread on how to log bugs, so here you go!

Even though you're not using a workstation graphics card, you should still log a bug for crapping out while applying a material.

I doubt it would work any better with linux on your mac via bootcamp.

You should definitely log a bug for that and include the error messages you're getting.

I was going to suggest he read the Whats New docs or the system requirements page (which you should still read, by the way), but that works too.

Support can help you with that if you let them know about it.

Yes, Houdini 12 will run on that machine. No, 4 tesla cards will not make it any faster than 1 tesla card. We can make use of your GPU in H12 for a significant performance increase but we do not support multi-GPU processing at this time.

Houdini Lounge » What happens to the HQueue (Clouding) forum?

It was a forum set up while hqueue was in beta, for beta feedback. It's been out of beta for awhile, so the forum was finally archived. You can submit feedback for hqueue in the same manner you'd do it for any other part of the program now.

Or, if you just want to talk about it with other users and not report a bug, you can use the forums.

Hello all,
I am having issues with the help running 11.0.812 on osx lion, I get the following error:
Invalid python installation: unable to open /usr/include/python/2.6/pyconfig.h
Is this a known issue?
Thanks,
Koen
Yup - it's xcode related. We're still trying to nail it down but right now it looks like if you had an old version of xcode and upgraded from 10.6.8 to OSX Lion, you need to update xcode in order to get docs to work (as a workaround until we fix this). May be related to how apple is now dealing with xcode. Did you have it installed already and if so, what version?

Is the new feature ‘Full screen mode’ will be integrated in next releases ?
If you find that handy, pop in an RFE for it but we can't make any promises.
p.s. 11.0.811 should be good to go now.

OSX LION release today
There are a few known issues that we're working on for Houdini 11 on OSX Lion. Docs and licensing being the main two. We should have a fix for these issues shortly.
EDIT: 11.0.811 should be good to go now.

Houdini Lounge » OSX 10.5 and gcc 3.4 support

Hi ho! Just wanted to give you a heads up that OSX 10.5 and gcc 3.4 (on all platforms) will not be supported in the next Houdini release. i.e. The next release of Houdini will only support OSX 10.6 and higher (64bit) and gcc 4.x and of course win32/win64. After consulting with our customer base we believe this will have minimum impact on our users as most of them have already upgraded or plan to do so in the near future.
