H12 OGL problem

Having some issues with Houdini 12 Apprentice on my crappy laptop. Probably because it has a Nividia 3100M and can't handle the truth.

I start up the program and create a sphere, it just shows the “single yellow” lines that go around the shaded object, for a lack of knowing what that is called. Except there is no shaded sphere. I go move the viewpoint around but as soon as I do anything else, the program crashes.

So, the possible solution is to turn off the Open GL 3.0 or have the ability to use a lesser version or software render or…whatever.

Can somebody please tell me how to do that?

it's under Edit>Preferences>3D Viewports where you can set which version you want to use!

I was going to suggest he read the Whats New docs or the system requirements page (which you should still read, by the way), but that works too.

I know, RFM. I thought I read about it being in the prefs for H12 but somehow I missed it when I was initially looking…I probably was just looking in the display options.

Anyway, it works perfect now, thank you.
