Have you also tried the substeps from the flip solver node? (instead of the autodop, these are two different settings)
I'm running a fast animated objects as container now, simming very stable.

Too bad because the leaking could have been caused by many things, I will call a few of them and you could check out these:
Check your glass objects in the DOP Network, under collision theres a checkbox for “show collision geometry” somethings you dont have enough samples and you would not get an accurate representation of your object.
You can also increase the particle radius scale in the flip object node.
You can also offset the collision of your flip object node theres a tab called collision I usually give it a small offset if there's interpenetrating particles.

Depends if you want to pay for it / what you'd like to create with it.
http://cmivfx.com/store/460-Houdini+Directable+Particles [cmivfx.com]
http://cmivfx.com/store/280-Houdini+Fractals [cmivfx.com]
These are two different projects but you'll learn alot of vops through them and you can apply both techniques.
I you'd prefer free tutorials you should check one of these channels:
Official Houdini vimeo page.
http://vimeo.com/goprocedural [vimeo.com]
Or Peter Quint's vimeo page.
http://vimeo.com/user2030228 [vimeo.com]
I learned alot from all these sources, hope this helps.
If you are a little bit more specific about what you want to create I could point you to a more specific tutorial.

Have you guys tried this:
When installer asks “install using apprentice licence” or “using server license”, try picking the server license part. I think this solved the problem for me on CentOS.

Ok got it working now!
Not 100% sure what fixed it, I tried two different things at the same time.
- first I removed the license in usr/lib/sesi/
- uninstalled houdini 12.5 entirely
- reinstalled (with one minor adjustment)
- when asking “install using apprentice licence” or “install license server” I chose the license server this time, might have been the game changer..
Also.. I noticed something with using the “install apprentice license” option.
When I do this I only have one file in the usr/lib/sesi/ folder, which is the license file.
And when choosing “install using license server” I get alot more files in my usr/lib/sesi/ folder, might not have been too smart when trying two things at the same time but this should narrow it down..
I hope these instructions also help for other people.
Cheers

Ok I found something odd now (see screenshot).
I was looking at the License Administrator just now and I noticed my Local Machine IP was incorrect, so I tried to restart the license server and I found out that “sesinetd” is not available in /etc/init.d (see window on the left)/
Do you think this might have something to do with it?
Btw thank you all for helping, I really appreciate it!

Ok I just took a look inside the license file using nano and its like 400 lines of apprentice licenses that have failed during my attempt to fixing the license.. woops..
Anyways I've backed it up, removed all lines and tried to reinstall the license but same problem.
Also tried to remove all license and then using the offline activation enter them.
Still same problem.
I think the hkey can't read the license somehow.
Im not sure this is because license is correct or incorrect.

Have you tried the offline activation way?
There's a link in my previous post on how to do that.

I also tried to install the apprentice license through offline activation using all steps from this page:
http://license.sidefx.com/help.php?platform=linux&commercial=no&mode=quickinstructions&ipaddress=84.104.130.247#2 [license.sidefx.com]
Houdini tells me license installed succesfull but still not working here..
Any ideas?
Anyone else using Debian have the same problem?

Hello forum,
Somehow I can't install my apprentice license for Houdini 12.5.427 on my Debian machine.
It keeps asking me to install / reinstall a apprentice license and I say “accept”, “agree” and Houdini prompts me its installed successfully but then Its asking to install / reinstall again.
Do anyone of you guys know how to solve this?
Thanks in advance!

Its not the same, try doing that on a very large object..
I've attached an obj I made a while ago.
Please load the model into a new scene and try zooming in on a small section of this model, try looking at any of the planks:
-You will see camera clipping (I dont know how to fix this)
- It will be very hard to navigate when zoomed in (zoom, pan, dolly)
- Space G will just center the entire object

I quite sure I cant be the only one with this problem:
When working in a large scale scene, for example I created a very large railroad track. Sometimes I want to zoom in on certain parts, but since the scene is really HUGE the camera slows down zooming in to its maximum zoom functionality. Which make it very very hard to navigate..
Im not sure if you guys know what im talking about, its actually quite hard to explain this.
I could make a video if you guys dont have a clue what im talking about.
But this usually happens when you zoom in on parts far beyond the object's origin.. this also happens in maya.. it is very very very annoying and I was wondering if anyone knows a solution for this?
Cheers!
