Hi SideFX,
Can you please explain (or point to the documentation) the difference for green and white (grey) wires between workitem dependencies.
Looks like it has some effect on general workitem communication.
Thanks
Ostap

Ok. Solved. Removed underscore from scheduler name.
Looks like H18 can recognize underscore in scheduler name but not in H17.5.

Ok. Clear. Thanks.
Can you please help to understand why the same override parms. work in Houdini 18 but don't work with 17.5 (17.5.360)? How to provide override parms. for 17.5. (probably not from the same “topscheduler.user.ds” file)?

Hi,
In the documentation to the custom scheduler, you are saying that scheduler properties should be added to a file called “topscheduler.user.ds”. But what if I have couple of schedulers? How to properly make distinguishable parms. for them?
Multiple schedulers parms. inside one file? Include different files to some central .ds file (similar to SOHO parameters)?
Looks like workflow for override properties is changed between Houdini 17.5 and 18.0. Can you please explain what is changed or provide a link (with this description)?
Thanks
Ostap

Hi Eric,
Thanks for your snippet but unfortunately it doesn't show up inside geometry when you are switching different contexts (TOP<->OBJ<->TOP).

Is it possible to visualise geometry (SOP Network) without diving inside?
For example: I have different subnet (digital assets) with different geometry in SOP Network. How to visualize geometry without diving inside?
I would expect just pressing on PDG node (with output flag) to take a look at the geometry (Similar to SOP context).
Thanks
Ostap

Task ID and Index are different things (They should not be equal).
As Chris mentioned that index is just an arbitrary number (you can assign whatever you want).

Hi,
But what is wrong with 'pdg_node.workItems.index'? if you set index 3 for workitem 3 then it returns 3.
If I understand it properly, ID is just your scene workitem unique id.

Hi Taylor,
Is it possible somehow to fix/make it?
I understand that for ROP subnet it wasn't really an issue, because we didn't have connected data flow but now with PDG we can create geometry, cameras, lights inside a subnetwork and just provide a var. path to those objects to render. That could be useful.
The workaround is to dump all those things into the same object network with ObjectMerge.
But I would be appreciated if you explain limitation, why we can't work with a different object/sop network.
Thanks
Ostap

Hi,
Can you please explain:
1. Why Mantra(ROPFecth) can't render if I referencing to a different subnet in PDG?
2. Why Mantra(ROPFecth) can't render SOP Context in PDG?
Correct me please if did some mistake.
Example file in the attachment (just try to render “Different_Subnet” and “Use_Sop_Context” TOP Networks).
Thanks

Hi,
A couple of related questions.
Can you please explain:

2. Why PDG can't render if I referencing to a SOPNet?

That is clear. But I'm talking about switching between nodes and if you have different SOP context for each of those nodes. But probably now I understand what the problem is - I need to provide “Dive Target” parm. for the digital asset (like in ROPGeometry: s/s). Correct me, please if I'm going the wrong way.

Hi Ken,
This method works if your sopnet is active but if you are jumping (set view flag) from one PDG Subnetwork to another it didn't update the representation.
Are there any plans related to updating this behaviour? Maybe some workaround callbacks?
Thanks

Yes of course.
If you turn off “Distribute Pressure Solver” then everything is back to normal (without FLIP noise/interference)

I wondering how it could be possible that two sharedservers interference between ich other?

I found another problem regarding multiple distributed simulations.
When I use multiple PDG sharedserver (at the same time) for tracker purpose (the same as your example but with adding the second simulation) then second simulation is producing not correct data (FLIP noise).
Looks like it is not an issue of the trackers itself because when I use two predefined trackers then everything is fine.

Clear. I thought that info for ResultData is taken from cmd output (somehow).
