Not so long ago I used a feature (or was it an HDA) that allowed for mouse dragging over an image to pick up color samples for a ramp. It worked like Substance Designer's gradient eyedropper from Gradient Map [helpx.adobe.com] node. I forgot what it was, but it might have been the Image to Ramp [www.richardcthomas.com] HDA by Richard C Thomas.
Unfortunately it's no longer available for download. The link directs to SideFX Labs' GitHub page, which could suggest that the HDA was at one point incorporated into the toolset. The problem is, I can't find it in Labs. Does anyone know if it was added in one form or another?
It would be great to have this feature in the Color Editor.
Image to Ramp or something similar?

But of course! This is exactly what I was looking for.
It's been several months since I last used it, so I kind of forgot whether it was an HDA or an integrated feature. Turns out I've been looking in the wrong place (Color Editor and RMB-clicking the ramp itself), so many thanks for reminding me how to access this feature.
Much appreciated.
PS. Looks like it's a part of SideFX Labs.

Hi ajz3d,
If you need something more procedural, check out my Color Sampler tool:

TechieReally cool tool. Is there a way to apply the selected color sample to a geometry by reading an attribute?

TheSushhhThanks! Yes, the node outputs a point for each sampled color so you can use that in a wrangle etc. Alternatively, you can copy the sampled colors from a ramp and paste as a relative reference on another ramp used in an Attribute VOP for example.TechieReally cool tool.
