Hi,

Sorry if the title is a bit unclear, I just stumbled on a pretty neat cinema4d plugin which allows to place copies of a mesh on another, and fuse everything together.

(quick 5 minutes example from the site)

I thought it was pretty neat.
There's no easy way to do that in houdini, is it ?
I can place points in their primitive center and copy stuff on it, but not sure how to scale the copy so that it matches the base primitive. Then I need to get rid of the duplicate faces. I can do that with the cookie sop, but not for more than two objects.

Thanks for any ideas!

Here's something very similar…

The bit that removes coincident faces isn't very pretty, but it seems to work most of the time…

Impressive! Thanks a lot, stabby.
Still have to practice more… Houdini never ceases to amaze me.

Nice work stabby

Here's a slight mod that uses a different approach to “removing” the shared faces. It doesn't create them in the first place…
