I have been exported .sim files on disk, and want to direct import the .sim files into mantra to render, in other words, I want to direct render the .sim files. Thanks advanced!

I think your getting your wires crossed .The IFD format is what you want to write out from a ROP, which can then be sent to a farm and rendered. Or maybe Ive got my wires crossed

That's a good one mmlxx.

In essense they're just the same output as the Isooffset SOP. Is that a work around for you?

Though I am curious about the answer to this as well…

Create a procedural scene which takes as an input *.sim files, and launch render after processing it to proper geometry. Then use hscript to run that scene and pipe in sims into mantra.

If your idea comes from performance issue, this is perhaps the way to go.

You can read in .sim files using a File SOP. The File SOP will recognise it and the Object Mask and Geometry Data Path parameters will be activated.

Cheers!
