This is strange - I can only switch between different viewport layouts up to 3 times by using the keyboard shortcut Cmd+ . After that Houdini stops refreshing the view unless I move my mouse.
To recreate, leave your mouse untouched and just keep switching the layout - Cmd+2 / Cmd+1
