I've tried may times to obtain a license for the Apprentice Edition. I keep getting this error message:

ERROR: Could not generate server key

I just wrote the same question to support and they said the server is down due to the big blackout.

so didn't the lights out end? earlier i couln't open the sidefx site and the forums.

It works for me right now (11:10 am eastern time). But I'm also in Toronto though. Maybe some site upstream of Side Effects is down and blocking access?

If you run the License Administrator, from the View menu, choose Diagnostic Information. Does it say you can connect to http://license.sidefx.com/index.php [license.sidefx.com] ?

its still not working out here.

Everything is back on now, so it should be working.
