Hi,

I was just wanting to know what I should read up on to get a finished simulation rendered and created into an actual video that I could upload on a website or save onto my computer. Could someone help me with documentation or information on doing this? I wasnt exactly sure and have been looking in the tutorials to try to find something but couldnt find it. Advice or a link would be amazing. Thanks everyone.

You need a camera:

On the Lights and Cameras Shelf, CTRL click camera.

Then you have to put down a render node:

Render>Create Render node>Mantra

Then edit the properties in that node. It's in the Ouputs context.

Render a sequence and export as movie file.

The actual conversion of image sequences into video files is best handled by outside apps and not anything related to Houdini. Avidemux is free, cross-platform, and works quite nice IMO.

Load the sequence of images into MPlay, and then use the File > Export capabilities to write the sequence out to a movie file.
