Hello,

can anyone confirm that I can have a POPnetwork preroll working with a fbx geo cache with negative frame numbers!?

I have a Maya exported fbx geo cache exported with negative frame numbers.
I am emitting particles off of this mesh and need the particle emission to obey the deformation in the negative frames before frame 1.

But this does not happen in my setup.
Is there a way to do this without shifting the whole setup away from its ‘native’ frame range??

cheers

So I offset the animation into the positive realm in Maya and export to fbx.
I bring back into houdini using Import -> Filmbox FBX.

Then I try to use a ‘Shift’ node after my ‘File’ chop, to offset back to negative.
Problem is I get it to line up correctly on frame 1 with an ‘Start’ value of -1.083, which seems odd.
Also as soon as I play the animation the sync slips.

It seems like something like this should work but I dont understand the -1.083 thing and why the sync slips.
Why, at a matching frame rate shouldn't the offset be -1.0 ?
And why can I get sync only at frame 1 and then it slips?

EDIT: I realilsed that the offset when I do it in maya ends up being
-=25 frames, and in houdini I get a frame 1 sync with
Start: -1.0 - (1.0 / 24 * 2)
But the problem is still that it starts slipping straight after frame 1!
