Yeah I have been having the same issue and I have worked it out in my case.

My setup is 2 Dell 24" on Windows 7 x64 with Houdini 11.0.581:

It only happens when you have 2 monitors and the second monitor has a lager height resolution.. I have also noticed that the startup logo is not centered on my second screen where I mostly use it.

Hope this helps.

Hey specs, I have the same problem too. If you actually drag your mouse around the window a bit, you should be able to find a spot to drop your asset (ie bottom right of window).

I do not know about dropping materials on objects. I have not tried that. But dragging stuff off galleries to other windows works fine this way

Has anybody found a fix for this in win 7 yet? I've seen a couple posts about this issue, which is happening to me (I have a second (or fourth) monitor turned to portrait mode)

I am trying to drag a node into the python shell, but I can't get it to work, no matter how much I drag it around.

I'm having this same issue. I can't drag or drop in any interface within Houdini. Has anyone figured out a way of fixing this without getting rid of my second monitor?

Makes Creating OTL's a real pain !

I notice that the problem goes away if I am VPN'ed into the computer. Must be a UI issue with the GL drivers.

have not seen it since I made my monitors horizontal…. I highly recommend posting a bug if you encounter this with vertical monitors

On Linux you need to maximize/restore then DnD will start working again. Don't know if that helps on Windows though.

I do wish it'd get fixed, DnD is a major feature

I found a solution for vertical 2nd monitor, drag and drop works
switch to single monitor mode >> launch Houdini >> turn on second monitor again

I have this exact same issue, and I have two monitors running at different resolutions.

It's really annoying, especially since I'm trying to learn Houdini now, and sometimes I have no idea if I'm dealing with an actual bug, or if it's an issue of a setting I've overlooked somewhere.
