polygon to nurbs conversion

When I convert a closed polygon to a nurbs curve, I always get one sharp corner. How do I get a smooth closed nurbs curve - see attached file (v11).

Use an ends sop to unclamp in U and then a basis sop set to uniform (off the top of my head without checking it)
The trick is finding just the right hammer for every screw
