Hey guys I suppose the subject says it all. I want to select points with a volume say a grids point with a sphere.

Yup that does it thank you. Is there any other way to feed to it the geometry shape in case you dont want to use the bounding of the GroupSOP?

Not sure what you mean. You want to use the surface geometry to group points by? If so that IS done inside the bounding tab of the groupsop. You just specify a shape to use by wiring your geometry into the second input.

yes I figured, it does not make sense in the houdini mindset.
