Hello Everyone,

I just did smoke simulation in houdini and I have to use a camera from Maya. The only problem is that in maya camera is in a group and even the group is animated. When I import the camera with the group in Houdini, the animation of group is there but the camera rotation doesnt work.

What is the best format to import camera from Maya to Houdini?

Thank you all in advance.

in this situation I would maybe bake out the camera animation in Maya first.

ive been using alembic from maya to houdini and agree it works very well. one thing to note however though, is that if the camera doesnt import the way you expect, make sure the transform and rot values on the camera in houdini are 0. there is a bug that sometimes throws random values into these that shouldnt be there
