Hi All,
i am an XSI user and i try to move towards Houdini. So far i have installed Apprentice on Windows and Linux and learning it in free time. So far so good, i am really impressed with he procedural way of doing things and easy expressions. Now i have an issue with the ‘pose library’(not the pose tool but the pose library)- it's not on the character shelf as help states on either distribution(win or lin). Anyone can help on this? I am using latest Apprentice 13 on Windows 7 and Linux Mint.
Thank you,
Constantin

What happens when you, from the help"

You can access the Pose Library by entering file/$HFS/houdini/html/poselib/index.html into the address bar of the help browser.

Hey, you again? I think my post is very clear. I asked where is the shelf tool as described in the documents. But to answer you, when i do this i get an error on both machines: wrong address or something in those lines. So i can't access it on any of my machines. If you think i can't follow help lines, please move along…..

Well, at least on windows, you have to expand $HFS first, and then it works

Sometimes the quality of help on the forums is equal to amount you've paid for it

Yes, but it's not there. Not on Windows, not on Linux. See attached. Oh, and introducing the address on the help browser returns an error.

Spaces in path are so utterly stupid design… you can navigate to poselib manually, copy/paste it and save a bookmark.

right click on empty shelf space> new tool
paste into script tab:
h = hou.ui.curDesktop().createFloatingPaneTab(hou.paneTabType.HelpBrowser)
h.setUrl('file/$HFS/houdini/html/poselib/index.html')

press “Accept”

click on newly created tool
does this work?

It does not work for me… even if I expand the $HFS it does simply open the html file as text..

I am using a Mac.

They should hire you for support. This solved my problem, the tool works.

Thank you so much,
