hi,
I use Flames shelf tool create flame with smoke. I'v checked Shading/Calculate Shadows and set shadow color to black. But the smoke component still has no self shadow with light.
I want to known if Pyro shader can cast self shadow as Billowy Smoke shader ?
thanks!

If you wanna render your self shadow harder without using Final Amplitude (to prevent hidden fire inside of the smoke) , you can increase “Smoke Brightness” (for example 2) and increase Shadow Density too (for example 20).
Then you can see different result in rendering with/without Self Shadow

Increase Smoke Density to 100 for billowy material, you will see selfshadow. But flame material can't.
I said before to see your self shadow you should increase “Shaow Intensity” in the Flame shader (in the Shading Tab).
So if you do that in the MartybNz example file ,you can see self shadow.
Set Final amplitude to 3
Set Shadow Intensity to 5 or 10
If you use Spot light instead of the Distance Light , you can take more self shadow !
If you have another problem , please upload your project file
