Hi,

I'm following a tutorial in Spanish: https://vimeo.com/146931010 [vimeo.com]

I don't speak or understand Spanish, but I'm kind of following along by watching what he's doing.

He puts down a Divide Node around 4:33 into the tutorial and checks the Compute Dual option.

I looked that up and it says: Convert the polyhedron into its point/face dual.

I have NO clue what that even means. How does anyone ever understand this stuff?

Can someone help me out with understanding this?

Thanks,

Jim

A polyhedron is a three-dimensional solid figure in which each side is a flat surface. These flat surfaces are polygons and are joined at their edges

Do I understand this stuff > some of it , do I need to ? > still not sure.

Thanks Rob,

Yeah, I'm trying to understand the hows and whys of Houdini.

Maybe that's an impossibility.

Now to figure out WHY the guy giving the tutorial used that SOP and WHAT it's doing.

This rabbit hole goes deep…
