high quality lighting with shadows not working properly

hi

new to houdini.
when i turn on ‘high quality lighting with shadows’ setting i don't get proper representation of the image. i get flat look. but render looks fine.

any option that i missed?

You should list your hardware.
Does it meet the minimum requirements to run Houdini?
Using Houdini Indie 20.5
Windows 11 64GB Ryzen 16 core.
nVidia 3060RTX 12BG RAM.
