Hi,
I'm having a tough time trying to figure out how to make this work.
What I'm doing is creating multiple ‘sinkhole’ effects as the ‘virtual camera’ flies over an area.
I have an image map that I'm going to use as the surface and I am able to fracture the geometry and make sinkholes and have them fall in, etc.
However, I'm wanting to put a ‘layer of dirt’ on top of the geometry so it looks more realistic. I'm thinking about 12" of dirt.
The camera will be about 300' above the surface, so a grain simulation is overkill.
The ‘walls’ I've hit are trying to figure out HOW to get a layer of dirt period, how to get that layer of dirt ONLY over my sinkholes and how to surface the entire simulation with the image map so it's one, cohesive surface.
Any ideas?
I have a post on ODForce, but still haven't been able to figure out the particle portion: http://forums.odforce.net/topic/25997-sinkhole-with-dirt-on-top/ [forums.odforce.net]
Thanks,
Jim
