Setting material ID?

Hi! I have my Surface Node->Uv Flatten->Color and it looks perfect. BUT! All exports as single material, but I want export fbx with multi-material. Is there a way to set material id for certain node, maybe in VEX? I could find only getmaterialid function ;____________;

Ah, blind me, found it! It is called ‘layer’ inside materials

Hey, I can;t find this ‘layer’ function in materials, any chance you could quickly run me through it?

export from houdini or to houdini?

should do it for export

export is working with modo and maya here…

sorry only old versions on this machine, but should work in newer versions, too
