I guess CHOPs can be combined, be them Audio, Math or whatever, but just want to be sure.
Can anyone confirm?

Although I haven't combined chops in the way I think you are asking, I am aware of some nodes available in a CHOP net for that purpose. And there are options for different ways to do so.

I typically have only combined CHOPs in a linear manner with the sequence(combine) node.

The Composite CHOP node can be used to layer channels one on top of each other.
You can also use the Shift and Trim CHOP nodes to retime the time ranges before doing the Composite operation.
