I have a small question about Houdini licenses:
If I buy a perpetual license, will it include all upcoming updates of Houdini (17+) ?
Or is it restricted to Houdini 16.x ?

I never heard of perpetual licenses with Houdini.

I've only seen annual licenses - and for the entire year that a license is valid there is no restriction on upgrades e.g., 16.5 to 17

All of our workstation commercial licenses are perpetual (except for Houdini Engine - it is a rental) We have both perpetual and rental (annual) licenses for our commercial floating licenses. The perpetual includes the first year on our AUP (Annual Upgrade Plan) so all updates will be included for the first year. After that you will need to renew on AUP to continue getting upgrades.

Houdini Indie and Education are annual licenses.
