How do I generate a lightmap/shadowmap for a HeightField?

Hello.

I've been searching for a few days on how to render a lightmap (or a “shadowmap”) for my HeightField, but with no results…

It seems something that the “GameDev Terrain Texture ROP” should include, but doesn't.

Do I need to set up an overhead orthographic camera that captures the entire map? Is there a tutorial somewhere on this? Would I need to convert it to polygons first? Surely there must be some tutorial out there that deals with how to get a lightmap out of Houdini…
