Copy to points and Exporting to Maya

When I export an alembic to Maya from Houdini, and I use a copy to points node to put geometry on points, Maya gets super unhappy. It seems like Maya is treating every piece of geometry that was copied to points, as a separate piece of geometry, instead of just one piece. I am attaching a picture of why I think this , the channel editor in Maya with the geometry selected. If I use combine in Maya, Maya is happy again seeing it as one geometry. However this can be time consuming for dense meshes and makes any animation unusable. Does anyone know how I can correct this on Houdini side? Thanks!
