I used Houdini the first time on The Day After Tomorrow as an animator so didn't do any technical work.
I'm back to it for pipeline purpose this time because autoUV and polyreduce are so good.
See I sculpt in VR, millions of polygons, end result is Unity. This means polyreduce, sometimes retopo, UV, painting in substance.
Since I sculpt much much faster than I retopo or UV I'd like to automate all that.
Is there a way to:
1- auto detect a new file in a folder
2- load that file as a node
3- auto trigger baking when the baking node has something new upstream
4- auto save the fbx or obj from the auto uv node
thanks!
complete automation

Hi daslolo,
That's what PDG could do for you. PDG will detect any changes (or new files) in a directory, and can process them like you would do manually yourself.
I recommend taking a look at the Learning Paths, and specifically this tutorial: https://www.sidefx.com/tutorials/process-multiple-objects-with-tops/ [www.sidefx.com]
