Houdini <-> Unreal Engine 4 Mannequin Round Trip

Hi, I've looked around and I keep reading that “it's possible”, but without seeing the actual solution explained anywhere :/.
I'm trying to make the Unreal Engine 4's Mannequin have a round trip from UE4 to Houdini and back into Unreal.
The aim is to actually do that on another skeletal mesh I have, but I wanted first to try and do it on Unreal's Mannequin.

My first issue is that I have one extra root bone (see attached image). On other softs I usually can delete that bone and export…
Here I tried multiple stuff and ended up mutilating my scene.
So, now I come here asking for help

What's the secret to a character's roundtrip between UE4 and Houdini ?

(I'm on Houdini Indie 18.0.532)
