Hello everyone,

I am working on a film project in unreal 5.1. We are having trouble importing particles made in Houdini in our project.

We are currently exporting hbjson files from houdini and importing this in niagara. It works fine when working with 150k particles during 120 frames, the file weights about 1Go

We start having trouble when we try to up the resolution of the simulation. With 500k particles for 120 frames, the file weights 5Go and unreal gives an error

Our shots are planned to be last way longer than 120 frames so the file will eponentially grow in size

So my question is, how do you import large files in niagara ? Is there a particle limit that we should be aware of ?

Thanks for your help !

Just ran into the exact same result. Have you found any solution for this issue?

I was able to reduce the filesize significantly by removing some unused attributes in the niagara rop, but its still too big...
