I have a scene where a dog is entering home coming from the garden and steps on a carpet designed to properly clean dogs paws.
I'd need to build a mud simulation in Houdini to represent some dirt the dog has sticked under his paw when it enter into the house, here the camera goes above the paw showing the problem and as soon as the animal steps on the carpet the mud sticks to the carpet surface itself leaving the paw completly clean.
I have many doubt about how to do this but the main feature im cant figure out is how to make the simulated mud to initially stick to the paw and, at a defined frame in the timeline, make it detatch and stick to the carpet surface instead.
I need to specify the carpet is made up from many fibers (see attatched for reference) which need to be also simulated as softbodies so that they can properly bend and deform under the weight of the dog. Of course while the fibers stretch again to original position the mud should follow the fiber movement as it is "trapped" on them.
Im not expecting a full tutorial on this obviously but any tip, suggestion or useful material you can provide is very appreciated.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Best,
Alessio
