Hello,

Is there any reason for an Indie license not to open any hiplc file generated by another Indie license ?

I can't open a hiplc file (generated with another license H14.0.273 with Windows) with a H14.0.290 on a mac.

Thx.

I don't think so. What's the error?

Hello,

It seems that Houdini can't open it, or it asks for a non commercial cession.
Very strange as both of my license are Indie.

thx.

Those are two very different things. Does it load when it asks for non-commercial session and you let it? My guess is that despite the file extension, it is still tainted non-commercial because either:
- it was actually saved using a non-commercial license
- it's using an .otl/.hda file that was saved using a non-commercial license
- it's trying to load some other external file that was saved using a non-commercial license

Hello,

Thx for your answer.

It is very strange, it is a very simple set up, without otls, and made on a Indie license (but I was thinking that maybe the server went down ?) and without any external files.

Houdini can't open the file via the menu (the file is greyed), but I can drag it on the H14 icon, and then it opens fine. (and saves the file normaly)

Do we need a constant connexion when using Indie ?

Many thx.

Using Indie doesn't require constant internet connection.

Can you post some screenshots of what you mean? It sounds like just a UI problem if you have ways of opening it regardless.

This is a capture of the selection window showing the file greyed out. (UI_002.hiplc)

I could open it by dragging the file onto the Houdini icon though.

Notice that Houdini saved it once as a NC file.

thx

J

Is that a screenshot of Finder on top of Houdini, or Houdini opening the native file chooser?

It is the Houdini file chooser (set to OS).

Ah, it's a problem with the OSX file chooser. I reported this bug and it's now fixed for tomorrow's 14.0.297 daily build.
