For anyone trying to manually install Intel HD drivers on the Surface Pro 3, this Reddit post outlines how:

Unfortunately, that driver twod recommended makes my Scene View black, and when I click on the scene view, Houdini crashes

The two newer drivers (the only ones that show up when searching for HD 4400), still don't show anything in wireframe or any shaded modes… grrrr

Any other driver versions that have worked recently?

Great news!!! I have installed windows 10 on the surface pro 3, and it seems like many of the issues have been addressed in this latest update
